🩰 The Kinesemiotic Body! 🩰

The Kinesemiotic Body project is a study funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) , in partnership with the English National Ballet (ENB) . With Arianna, Chun, Dayana, John and Russell we want to understand how dance communicates through movement and choreographed sequences in space. To do this, we're using a theory called "segmented discourse representation theory" and the "Functional Grammar of Dance Movement" created by Arianna. The ultimate - and ambitious! - goal is to create a new area of study that focuses on how movement can be used to communicate, not just in dance but in other performance arts as well, and to bring together researchers and organizations that are interested in this field.
